Dear Colleagues,
Two weeks from now we’ll be together at General Conference and I am really looking forward to this opportunity to seeing you and to spend time together considering what God has been doing and what He desires to do through us. We surely appreciate the prayer support that we feel from God’s people and I would ask in particular for your prayers for Vivian Hyndman, who was involved in a serious car accident last week. We are thankful that she is “only” bruised and battered—no broken bones and recovering at home.
This week I want to say a special word of welcome to the Toronto area churches. I hope that you will join us on Sunday morning and/or evening at General Conference and also make arrangements to drop in to the afternoon workshops. These have been planned with local churches in mind and we hope that everyone attending the conference will find one or two that are especially helpful.
Here’s a list of the workshops that will be offered on Sunday afternoon. This information is listed in the Agenda but I thought I would provide you with a list now so that you and/or your delegate can pick which ones would be beneficial to attend. A fuller description of the content of each of these workshops is attached.

I’m encouraged by a number of people who told me last week that they were getting the materials printed for General Conference. It appears that this method of sending the materials via email and the website is working well. However, remember that if it is not possible for you to print the materials, you should let Kalesha know (ministrycentre@fmc-canada.org).
Tanya Prinsep, our General Conference Coordinator, has been doing a fantastic job looking after details. I am attaching her “Things to Do in Preparation for GC” document so you can use it as a check list for preparing for General Conference. Please know that we want to do everything to serve you well and make your weekend at General Conference a pleasant and inspiring experience.
There is one appointment to announce this week (see below) and a new posting for a Director of Children’s Ministry at Barrie FMC.

*Dr. Lysander is very willing to serve the Lord and the church as a pulpit supply, and indicated that he would be willing to supply pulpits in other provinces at his own expense if there is a need for his help. As an associate of Child Evangelism Fellowship, he needs opportunities for preaching to maintain his “minister-at-large relationship” with them, so he would be glad for any opportunities that would come his way from the FMCIC.
