Origins
Pastor Elijah Buconyori left his native Burundi for Bible college in Kenya. Following graduation he was offered a job in Christian literature development. Along with other Free Methodists working or studying in Kenya, they began a Free Methodist home fellowship with Pastor Buconyori as their leader.
Present Ministries
The modular Bible School has been operating successfully for over five years. Major cities where churches are centered include Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Kericho. The work is also growing in several rural areas. The influx of experienced leadership from Burundi and Rwanda during the crises in those countries was a real boon to the new work in Kenya. Presently, Kenyans are stepping up to give the necessary leadership to the church.
Canadian involvement
Canadian missionaries Lois Meredith and Debbie Hogeboom serve in leadership development ministries. |

Leadership Development
This is harvest time in Kenya. Since 1994, the Kenya church has planted about 100 churches, fellowships and preaching points. Always there are many more places calling, as well as strategic centers that need to be entered. To evangelize and plant churches requires trained leaders to minister to and disciple the many who come to know the Lord. Our modular Bible school is our main training program for these leaders, and there are many leaders who are waiting to enter the Bible school. Please help us continue our momentum in bringing in the harvest by sponsoring the Kenya national church budget. |
